The Causes of a Car and Pedestrian Accident
There are all kinds of reasons for a car and pedestrian accident to occur. The most common reason is driver distraction, which can be caused by things like texting, talking on a cellular phone, or playing with a stereo. There are other causes such as driving too fast, driving while under the influence of alcohol, or driving carelessly, all forms of negligence on the part of the driver.
But there can also be negligence on the part of the pedestrian. Pedestrian crosswalks, stop signs, and stoplights are all designed to control traffic protecting both drivers and pedestrians at an intersection. If a pedestrian chooses to jaywalk and cross a street directly in the path of an oncoming vehicle, the driver may not be able to stop. It also means the driver of the car should not be held responsible for the car and pedestrian accident.
When a complete investigation is undertaken the circumstances leading to the accident will be uncovered leading to a determination of who is at fault for causing the accident you or someone you love was involved in and/or injured in.
