Child Support

Child Support

In the state of New Jersey parents have an obligation to financially support their children.

Parents are obligated to do so until the age of matriculation. Once divorce occurs however the court will make a determination and define one parent as the “Parent of Primary Residential custody.”

Child-support is set by statute under the child support guidelines. These guidelines define at what rate of child support the noncustodial parent will have to pay based upon the parents’ total yearly income. The child support guidelines include a formula, which after certain information is inputted, calculates the amount of child support to be paid on a monthly basis.

The Mark Law Firm represents both parents in matters of child support. Contact us for your consultation by calling 908-375-6767, or contact us to schedule your consultation.
